Saygun Philharmony Choir (SFK) was founded in November 2014 by conductors Çiğdem Aytepe and Atilla Çağdaş Değer. In 2013, the core of the Saygun Philharmonic Choir was formed with the participation of members of the Müzed Muammer Sun Choir, Ertuğrul Oğuz Fırat Choir and Muzaffer Arkan Girls Choir to perform Mozart's “Ave Verum Corpus” and Bujor Hoinic's “Gordion Cantata”. The choir's objectives are twofold: firstly, to unite choirs and individuals from across the globe in the performance of large-scale works, and secondly, to foster the development of our country's choral potential, encompassing both orchestral and a cappella traditions.

SFK is composed of choristers who are dedicated to choral music and have education and experience in this field. The majority of the members are musicians or music students who graduated from various music schools. In addition, choir members from different professional groups with a high level of choral experience also take part in the SFK. 

Since its foundation, the choir has realized projects with the well-established orchestras of Ankara and the leading conductors of our country. The choir has made a name for itself in a short time with its successful performances and was awarded the “Choir of the Year” award at the Donizetti Classical Music Awards in 2016. 

This season, the SFK is working at the Bilkent Faculty of Music and Performing Arts for the projects in the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra program. 

In the recent past, our choir has rehearsed at Musikî Muallim Mektebi (Cebeci Conservatory building), and in previous periods, we have worked with the support of Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory, Bilkent University Faculty of Music and Performing Arts and the coordination of the Choral Educators Association.
