On March 8, 2017, the Presidential Symphony Orchestra held a special concert with successful female musicians for the first time under the baton of conductor Vesna Souc on the occasion of International Women's Day.
Çiğdem Aytepe: "It is a great pleasure for us to be in a program where female musicians predominate, especially on International Women's Day." Conductor of the Saygun Philharmonic Choir, Çiğdem Aytepe, said the choir is mainly composed of music teachers and students.
Explaining that they founded the choir three years ago to work with orchestras, Aytepe said, "We will be performing A Midsummer Night's Dream on March 8 and 9. The role of the choir here is 'fairy choir'. That is why there are female voices in the choir. Especially on International Women's Day, it is a great pleasure for us to be in a program where female musicians predominate. I hope that the unity of women will continue always and in every field."
